In this presentation, you will be given a brief overview of the most recently updated and newly added GRI Standards. Kristin will also provide information about GRIs newly initiated Sector Program in which Standards will be developed that are specific to certain sectors. The GRI Sector Program will cover all high-impact sectors, and first up is the oil, gas, and coal sectors!
The second topic to be covered is GRIs alignment with other reporting frameworks. Through the ‘Better Alignment Project’, GRI and other major international corporate reporting standard setters and framework providers, aim is to make it easier for companies to prepare effective and coherent disclosures that meets the information needs of capital markets and society. The latest news and development, as well as the groups upcoming plans will be shared.
Although Sustainability Reporting is now common practice among upwards of 5000 of the world’s largest companies, the information found in sustainability reports is often underutilized by companies and their stakeholders. The last part of this presentation will focus on digitalization of data. What are the challenges and how is GRI working to move towards better utilization of data?
