Mission
Climate Change and Environment related considerations provide the basis for the creation of new regulatory frameworks.
These “lead” towards a necessity for reducing respective harmful and damaging impacts, and at the same time they are been used as Drivers and Incentives for Innovation, Competitiveness and Sustainable Business Operation, Growth and Development. Related International Standards [Climate change and Environment related Standards – CCES] have been developed to allow for the (i) quantification of these impacts, (ii) their claimed reductions, (iii) their verification and (iv) the proper means for the subsequent declarations.
Organisations and Companies that succeed in complying with such CCES standards are allowed to accordingly label their operation, services, products and brands as responsible and sustainable proving them not only with a differentiation qualification bur also a means to avoid non-tariff [technological] barriers.
In addition a brief overview will be presented on the recent developments put forward by the European Commission towards a single market for green sustainable products through the new European Standards about product and organisation environmental footprint [PEF and OEF] (draft ) which will allow for a unifying integral approach towards green sustainability credentials.
Target group
The Workshop concerns any organization and company of any size and operating in any sector, interested or in need for sustainable operation and for the prospect of sustainable development. It is directly addressed to:
- Any organisation and company looking towards expanding their business and exporting their activities and products
- Those that consider – wish to develop a step-wise sustainability oriented plan based on metrics and cost-benefit considerations, or
- Are implementing CSR activities
It is adequate for persons in an organisation or company that are engaged either in strategic, managerial or technical level in this new business operation framework.
