Plenary session #3: Emerging global sustainable development framework, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and partnerships

The workshop will focus on the emerging global sustainable development framework, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and partnerships.


  • To provide an analytical briefing on the negotiations taking place at the United Nations in New York and around the world on a post-2015 development framework and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which will set priority areas for international development cooperation, as well as national and international investment and public-private partnerships after 2015.
  • To identify possibilities to participate in the shaping of this framework and goals, and in their implementation in practice once finalized and endorsed by world leaders in 2015.
  • To explore entry points for partnerships among companies, civil society organizations and public entities at global, regional, national and local levels in delivering sustainability in practice, drawing¬† lessons from the experience with the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
